Oldie but goodie
The Fourth Edition of "Fundamentals of Tool Design" is a revision of a book originally published in 1962. There is a chapter dealing with the many ways computers are being used in the field as well as some treatment of GD&T principals. Both new topics are "added on" and not well integrated. Review of Basic Metrology for ISO 9000 registration
This is an excellent book for those who want to learn about basic principles of metrology and calibration.The book also gives a nice introduction to ISO 9001 requirements for calibration of test and measuring instruments. Great text for CNA class
I am currently studying to become a CNA in the state of Maine.This is the textbook and workbook we are using.I have found this text to be very thorough and I enjoy it very much.I would recommend it to any CNA or CNA student.

Review for the Sensors Handbook
The sensors handbook is mainly a collection of 75 research articles. The articles describe research on various sensor systems in industry and academia. For example, chapters 11-15 are review papers on MEMS research in a few US universities, and Chapter 27 is about research on a networkedsmart sensor system. The information in these papers say little aboutdesign of sensors and sensor systems, seletion and specs. of sensors,setting up sensors, and advantages/disadvantages of various sensors. Insummary, I found that Sensors Handbood did not contain the kind ofinformation I expected to find in such a handbook and therefore it was notvery useful. ... Read more

Brief but complete, With proofs but parsimonious ones
If you have taken a typical EE signals and systems course, you might well enjoy this book as a refresher or reference (most of part I). Esp., the brevity but higher rigor of proofs is appreciated. A lot of part I and allof part II contain advanced sigs. & sys. material, and part III is aadmittedly brief presentation of random processes, and estimation, etc. Thestrength of the book as a learning device is parts I-II. The quality of the book is horrible, particualarly the binding.The book fell apart in my hands after the second week of class.There was no mishandling involved.The book was laying on the table, I picked it up and chapter three fell out.The defect has worsened over time.Can't send the book back, I need it for class.Others in class have the same issue.$150 and the book can't be bound properly.One more nail in America's coffin. ...
