Excellent book!
The book covers a lot of critical subjects in an in-depth manner.The topics it touches on are : detectors and sensors, analog and digital input-output hardware for signal processing, data formats and manipulation tools, software development using c/c++, and hardware-software interface.I highly reccamend this book for anyone involved in data acquisition and analysis.

Very good book and very understandable.
Of the various radiation detection and measurement books available, this one is by far the easiest to understand. It is concise and does not ramble on with extraneous details. One learns the basic concepts and theory, thus allowing the reader to develop a clear knowledge base without becoming lost in disjointed detail. The reviewer learned from the first edition of Tsoulfanidis' book as an undergraduate two decades ago, and is grateful that no other text was used for the course. The reviewer also owns the second edition. The reviewer recommends that those desiring to learn about radiation measurements and radiation detectors strongly consider using Dr. Tsoulfanidis' text as a first step towards their education in nuclear science and engineering.

solid discussion of theory with some reservations
This is the textbook used for our Bioinstrumentation class. While half of this book did not even apply for us bioengineers, the other half that we actually used was overall well-written and easy-to-follow.

As an experimental physicist by education I picked up this book to brush up my measurement knowledge. Pre W- and Z-boson book
Although published in 1983, this book predates the discoveries made at CERN of the intermediate vector bosons. This discovery coupled with the discovery of weak neutral currents more than a decade before, solidified the role of gauge theories in providing a unified theory of elementary particle interactions. The author does a fine job of introducing the history of gauge theory, and also its conceptual foundations, emphasizing the physics, and not the mathematical formalism. Read more

Relevant examples and application, but be careful
This is a good reference book in case you wonder how electronics manufacturing can be tackled with Six Sigma.It shows interesting examples, insights on the cost structure of a manufactured electronic product, some manufacturability guidelines, good insights on statistics. A must book for Electronics Professionals
I find the concepts in most 6 Sigma books are not clearly defined and totally connected. It leaves me working hard to figure out the direction and benefits. This book ties it all together in a very simple, unambiguous and non-threatening way. The applications are self explanatory and intuitive and one does not require an extensive knowledge of statistics to understand and apply the principles. Read more
