The Gift that keeps on giving
I received this book as a gift and it was all that I had hoped it would be. So I bought two of them to give as gifts to my "Tractor" buddies.

Farmall cub research
I bought this book because my late grandfather owned a farmall cub that has several implements, although it belongs to my uncle now I wanted to research it for its originality and the year it was made, a very informitive book.
Farmall Letter Series Tractors
I am restoring a 1951 Farmall M, and purchased this book mainly because the description states that it contains, among other things, factory original decal placement. To my disappointment, however, when I turned to the decal section, there was no info. available for the Farmall M. Thinking I would simply try the Farmall H decal placement section, I found it also to be void of the needed information. Essential Restoration Resource
This is one of the best and most factual books regarding the classic Allis-Chalmers tractors. It spends very little time on corporate history or the usual pretty pictures with glowing captions. Instead, it includes reproductions of actual Allis documents showing where decals were located, tables of useful facts and data, and wonderful color pictures with factual captions. Most of the info in the book is for the early years to the early 60's, very little info for later models.

book of great impact. A realistic view into the challenges and demands of mono-cultural farming. If you want/need to understand the reality of farming and challenge your 'romantic' ideals, this book will provide that awakening and more.Most importantly, it leaves with you a clear sense of the honest influence fostered by an agrarian lifestyle - folks with integrity and values, least of which - fortitude and faith.
two worlds, one person
Hanson is one of the rare people that can live in two distinct worlds and have the vision to see the difference. Fortunately for all the rest of us, he also has the ability to allow us all to see his two worlds. To me, many that read this book need to read it closer, for the book contains much more than casual reading can reveal. This book tells real life stories of real life people and the many interactions that take place between these people, that will ultimately shape everyones future.I did my best to try and say how I feel about this book.Read this book yourself and enjoy.

'99 by "a reader":"As we read this book it became clear that Professor Hansen's uniformly negative opinions of the people who now support themselves as professional farmers are truly clouded by his amateur status as a farmer. Essential reading for the John Deere Collector!

This isa major new resource work that will become indispensable to antique tractorowners. I wish the photographs were in color, which is a minor complaint inlight of the wealth of information presented.

This is a good all-round reference for restoring antique tractors.You expect a good discussion of "how-to" information on restoring old tractors.The book has that and many illustrations to help you understandparticular repair techniques.Yost has included useful tips on nearlyevery page.These tips cut to the heart of the topic he's explaining.Healso has a useful section on how to choose and operate your old machinery.
