This is a great textbook for the beginning and intermediate level electricians.The text stays detailed yet organized as you follow steps in the process of wiring a typical house.It is based on the 2002 NEC so everything is updated and to code.The study questions, and chapter end summaries are key features that will aid in the learning process. Great Audel book, exactly what I needed
This book was a pleasure to find on Amazon.The authors cover all of the essential parts of a machine shop in a way that's really easy to read and understand.The book is an excellent reference. Great revision-must have for the toolbox!

This book was a big help
Thanks for the help!We have been doing a lot of research on the subject of Preventive Maintenance Scheduling.This gave us some good insight. Good stuff.
Excellent Introduction
I am half-way through this book and realize that I have used Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) for years. This was the approach we used because of HAZOP studies. If you look at the methodology, they are the same. It is an excellent book for first-pass economics of preventive maintenance (PM). Through numerous examples, he shows when to PM, when you are spending too much for PM, and when to just run the damn thing 'til it breaks. As I said, it is a great introduction. I have picked up Doc Palmer's book and can see I would be lost without preparation. Great Book

Absolutely a Must Have for Anyone Involved with Electricity and Electrical Equipment

Great quality book - oodles better than the paperback version
I bought this book because I am studying to be an electrician.I like it considerably more than the paperback version it is far easier to find section headings and sub-headings when you are looking for something.The paper is strong and glossy-white (as opposed to gray and flimsy in the paperback) and headings are in bold type and indented.
BUY THE HARDCOVER!!
What a waste of time, money and energy!!

Excellant for all levels
I got this book after participating in a Web Seminar with Mr. Leggitt.I think this is a very good source for anyone that would like to hone their quick drawing skills or look for different approaches for doing presentation drawings from all levels of detail.It might even give you a few ideas about using technology to your advantage to produce quick drawings.I would definately recommend this book to a beginner or students in architecture school.I know that students are always looking for ways to product great looking drawings in a minimal amount of time.

This book was just painful !!!!!!!
Very dissapointed in this book...especially since he is an advocate of Sketchup (which is why I anxiously wanted this book).I think some of his shortcuts are ok, but I found the book very, very repetitive (almost painfully) and the authors rendering style is just simply BRUTAL!I mean, it seems as if every one of his renderings include happy,smiley 1980's rocky mountain-type scale figures and all of the scale children hold teddy bears!His library of projects lack any pizzazz and there's just no sophistication to his rendering style.The most tedious read of the year for me.

Why the hype?
I was left with the feeling from the other reviews that this book would be great for architects, which it is not. It is more for an art student. One of the best books available on the subject
Dr.Abernethy covers all of the bases on Weibull functions as well as some very down to earth commentary on Weibull's history. The usefulness of Weibull functions are explained clearly with good examples of real-world applications. If you are involved in any way with Weibull analysis or life stress analysis, this book is a must have for your bookshelf/desk/lab.

Very helpful
The more I use this dictionary, the more I come to like it. It's handy to have a specific dictionary for scientific and technical terms, and I feel more complete with this by my side. handy
I wish I had this book when I first started working after school.You will probably never part with it as it is a very good and handy reference book. Sometimes it's very difficult to imagine some new word that's defined with some small definition but at least some words have pictures to aid in the description.Overall still very good.

The resource I keep coming back to...
This book is the most useful one I've found on the subject.Design books of all stripes (document-design focused or otherwise) have a tendency to provide "principles" without ever providing real support for said principles.Books will be loaded with recommendations that may or may not be well supported by data, quantified or at least well documented study results, etc.
Not what the title explains
This book could be cut off to more than half pages it is now. The information is over explained and reader gets bored.
The benchmark in its field
The reviewers who say this book is wordy and over-long just don't get it. This is not a "how to do it in five easy lessons" handbook. If you find a book like that - burn it! Books like that are usually self-published by amateurs who don't understand the complexities of the field, and they are worse than useless. In fact, they are often filled with advice that has been so oversimplified that it is actually wrong. You CANNOT learn document design in five easy lessons.

It is a good book, but I don't find myself using it.
It's true, all the equations are here, but since I used the big book (Mechanical Engineering Reference Manual for the PE Exam) for all the studying, I find it easier simply to look back at that book for the equations. I suppose that if I learn all the things in the big book well enough that I don't need it, that this would be a good, handy, quick reference, but I just don't find myself using it. The big book is all I need.

Disappointing review material.
I also bought this book as part of my review materials for the PEexam thinking that it would be a comprehensive summary of the equations used in each chapter.It is not.Maybe 20% of the material is provided.I didn't even bring it with me to the exam.You're better off making your own review sheets and spending your money on tabs for the Reference Manual (which is VERY good).

Complete and comprehensive, easy to navigate
The Hp33s offer so many functions, but learning how to navigate them and fully understand their capabilities is an arduous task. This guide is written in a clear, concise format that provides an easy way to jump right to equations that are useful on the exam!It is divided into categories, and subcategories from there. A very useful text and worth the buy!
