Non-Engineer Review
As a non- engineer, but fully engaged in the Injection Molding business as a recruiter of Plastic Part Design Engineers,this book delivers technical information but easy to read and comprehend. Not just a book on theory, but practical applications. I recommend for non-engineers and engineers.

The ARRL Antenna Handbook
The book was supposed to come with a CD-Rom. This person told me the CD was missing when they went to package the book. They sent the book free of charge and returned my money. I was told if the CD was to be found it would be sent free of charge. I consider this tops for customer service.

The ISBN NO. below is the LAB MANUAL for the text advertised above.I think it is interesting and worth the time reading it, but it is not the theoretical treatment you may be interested in. great books

High quantity, but average quality
This book covers a huge amount of topics related to the automation, organisation and control of production systems.
From a student point of view
Lacking important concepts from 1st edition that should have been in the chapters on production mathematical models. (Scrap, Time In Plant, etc.)Good descriptions of general machine automation processes.Good overview of NC, CNC machining, covering more in these chapters than some texts associated with only this topic.Good overview chapters of industrial robotics, PLC control and programming, in-plant material handling, manufacturing system schemes, assembly systems, quality control, Statisics, inspection and planning.Overall a very capable text.When coupled with a well developed laboratory, would be a text for a very complete college level Industrial Automation course.

Machining Fundamentals

Outstanding, updated and excellent
I have used this book in my class on Experimental Design since 1997. Among all the texts I have tried to use to make the teaching of this subject more precise and understandable, this book from Dr. Montgomery have proven to be the more appropriated. The book has new exercises, more teacher resources, and is now more software oriented, something that I found very useful for my students in Dominican Republic.
Good introduction to an important subject
This reviewer spent 10 years at Arizona State University and while there, took over 70 classes.As an engineer, I took loads of science and engineering classes; many of which I did not need.There was one class I took only because I had to; Design of Experiments, an industrial engineering graduate class taught by Dr. Douglas Montgomery.We used this book (an earlier edition though) in this class.The class was great and the book was actually quite easy to understand.Now, as an engineer at Intel, I have come to discover that this the class by Dr. Montgomery, and the book from that class, is more useful than any other class / textbook that I have ever taken.Since Dr. Montgomery cannot teach all of us about statistics within engineering design, we can instead read this highly readable book of his.

EXCELLENT BOOK
This is the best book for beginners to DOE, students and for future reference.
