Nothing Great about it
I have used this book as Beginner of FEA and didn't find it interesting. It deals with more theoretical aspects of FEA. It does really deal with using FEA on a regular basis. May be it's the person who taught the classmade me disinterested in the book... others might find it interesting.Ibelieve that the Theory behind FEA is important before even you startworking on the software, but this is not the book I would recommend to readbefore you start.

The best introductory book written in finite element method
The chapters are very well organized. The material is very easy to understand. There are several fully worked out problems in each chapter that gives a solid foundation of the theory discussed in that chapter. Variational methods and Galerkin formulations are very well explained in a mannerthat is very easy to understand. Although most of the concentration is on solid mechanics and heat transfer, there is a brief introduction to cfd. Overall, this book is a must, if you are planning to continue you studies in applied mechanics or related fields. I sincerely hope that the author Daryl.L. Logan has plans to write a similar book in Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis.

Logic, language and notations have made all the difference.
Topics builds up in a logical order. The language used through out is stimulating and easy to understand. Mathematical notations are straight forward. This book is a must have for both begginners and the seasoned professionals who do Finite Element Analyis. Read more

Good for processing
This book is written a very understandable and readable style.It seems to be very good and thorough in the processing areas.There are a number of errors in the first few chapters on structure, so if you use this book you should supplement it with something else.

Excellent Resource for Many Reasons
From my particular perspective, Brent Strong's text on plastics is valuable because it is one of the very few places one can turn for a substantial discussion of high-energy radiation processing of plastics by means such as e-beams, microwaves, UV light, and plasmas. E-beam processing of plastics to impart commercially valuable improvements in their physical properties is especially well covered.

excellent book
I have used this book as a reference and for teaching a Plastics Course in Mechanical Engineering.It is very easy to read, it does not get into too much confusing details about the chemistry - it explains the chemical fundamentals very easily. It does a great job of relating plastic structures with actual properties such as permeability, strength and conductivity. All my students consider a great book. Excellent for the novice - good for the veteran molder
Being a manufacturer of infrared rotational processing equipment, I found the book to be both concise and informative for the novice, as well as thought provoking for the experienced molder: Specifically, chapter 7:"Predictions for the Future".

A very thorough and educational work on rotational molding.
Basically, there are three books that I know of which cover the topic of rotational molding. These 3 books are by Beall, Bruins, and Crawford, respectively. I have the books by Beall and Crawford. I haven't seen thebook by Bruins. Being an engineer and tinkerer, I really appreciated theeasy reading manner in which Beall presents the topic in a methodical andstep-by-step manner. When reading, one can tell that Beall really put hislife long experience onto paper. He didn't hold anything back. All in all, a good introduction tool to rotational molding.
