A must have book for drummers and engineers
This book is as good as it gets. If your going to record drums you MUST have this book. It covers everything. Room acoustics, microphone placement, drum prep, EQing and efects, the vibe of the studio and musicians, how to deal with problems of all kinds. I can't say enough about this great book. Buy it.

If you're a drummer, it's a must have for recording!
This is by far the best book I have ever read on recording drums.Never REALLY looked at in other books.I'm a drummer of 14 years and still learned new things not only about my drums, but recording them too.Theinformation from the great drum artists at the end of each chapter wasinteresting and informative.A must buy!

An Excellent Book For Design Fundamentals
Benson's book provides a rich background in the fundamental physics of loudspeaker design. However, this book is NOT for thehobbiest! To truly appreciate his writing, the reader should, by necessity, have a solid background in physics, mathematics, or engineering. Unlike the other oversimplified "how-to" cookbook speaker design books, this tome presents the operational theory such that a skilled designer can create a "from scratch design",instead of merely cutting and pasting an existing design. Other books should be subtitled "Loudspeaker Building", this books can truly be labeled as loudspeaker design!

A mathematical text, not for home loudspeaker builders.
Based on the blurb advertising this book, I bought it to help me design and build my home loudspeakers.It is NOT this type of book.Full of mathematics it is perfect for the experts but will not help the commonhobbyist like me to decide how to size and build speaker enclosures.

Be prepared to read nothing but mathematics

A PRINCIPLED FOE OF ENTRENCHED POWER
Listening to these exerpts from several of Cockburn's talks is a relief from the 24/7 idiocy of the cable networks and what passes for talk radio.He covers lots of topics of recent interest(the stolen election of 2000, Clinton's disgusting final days, the proper response to 9-11) and each time illuminates a part of the story ignored by the mainstream press. My only complaint is that he was much to soft on that miserable cheerleader for our Warlord-in-Chief, Christopher Hitchens, a man who reacted to the attacks of 9-11 by throwing overboard just about all his principles.He really should have been more thoroughly scorched - that section was not sufficiently "incendiary"! ... I Found This Book To Be Helpful
Unlike the other reviewer, I found this book to be helpful. I am already a Cool Edit Pro user and I have integrated this program into my audio recording program of Sonar XL by Cakewalk. Together, these programs are a powerhouse. I did think that there were subjects that I would have liked the author to elaborate on (i.e. more about music audio than voice), but all in all, I thought it was well written and informative. I would have also like to have seen more tricks covered, but I have learned the art of audio editing basicaly on my own with trial and error. To listen to some good examples, visit my mp3 site at mp3.com/rsumner. "Rock Slide" was edited with Cool Edit Pro. This is actually the only book that I have seen covering the subject of audio editing on the PC. I do expect to see more in the near future though. I was very disappointed. Read this and you'll know why.

Haynes Xtreme Customizing In-Car Entertainment Review
A worthless book-very dissappointed in the content-I bought it because I thought it would help me install an overhead dvd monitor in my car-at least that's what the description tells you-and would be a good reference book to have to install a radio and speakers if I ever wanted to, but to install an overhaed dvd monitor takes some knowledge and time-this book had a total of 2-yeah that's right-2 pages of how to do this most of it just pictures of installing it.The total amount of words describing how to do it on these 2 pages was less than a paragraph! What a joke.Not one thing about electrical hook up either, which is the thing I needed the most.The adverstising for this book is very misleading.I would of selected 0 stars for this book but it didnt give me that option.I returned it for a refund. ...
