Well worth the investment!
A great guide for obtaining pricing early in the development process.Presented in a straight-forward, concise manner, this book will allow owners, consultants, and project managers to obtain useful pricing information that can be used to underwrite financial analysis and assist in selecting a contractor to work with during the design process.We just used the system on a large mixed use project and had excellent results.The analysis tools and approach allowed us focus in on what was the "real" cost of each contractor proposal, not just the cost per square foot.I highly recommend it! ... The product was suppose to be a hardcopy book.However, upon receipt it was a softcopy book.I demand a refund for false advertising.

We use this as a textbook for students in our small business and entrepreneurship classes.

Hardly worth the shipping cost for anyone with experience.
I bought this book for the Land Development aspects and was very disappointed.I am a successful building contractor and want to move in the direction of land development.Not the development of a single lot but the development of a parcel of land.This book is focused on going from owning a truck, having a skill saw and working for an experienced company to trying to fly on your own.This is not a bad idea but was certainly not what I expected or needed.Only the last chapter talked about "land development" and then only "maybe you could buy a lot and build a house and then sell it."Probably a decent book for the person who is just starting or wants to be on his own.A better title for this book is "Start Your Own Construction Business".Read more

Highly Dissapointed
This was the required text for my Basic Blueprint Reading class. Much of the information was helpful and well explained. However, in class we found several errors with this text, and the blueprints were not always ledgible..nor were they drawn to scale. An anwser section in the back of the book would have been helpful with the Test Your Knowledge Sections.
