how to paint your car
Typical over load on words pertaining to auto body shop repairs and prep for painting,"but lacks in information on painting a car. Out of 159 pages of print there is only 6 pages that actually decscribes anything that ressembles painting. I wish i had known this before i wasted my money. I would not recommend this book.

Very good book on brushless motors
This book includes a great amount of detail for designers. Covers winding, materials, magnetics, thermal considerations, etc. Has plenty of equations that are required for design. Both authors are well known and fellows of the IEEE.

The "German Method," exposed.....
If you own the car, you should own this manual. For those of you who own these cars, and need service, you will be much better prepared for dealing with a mechanic. Fluids specs, full description of features, and service recommendations are included.For those of you who will work on their own car, you will find the "german method" for completing the work.This involves a "systems" approach, with systematic troubleshooting. Each system is explained in the text, and when I used this to troubleshoot a fuel system, all of the correct voltage and resistance values were in the manual.An absolute godsend when installing stereos, heater cores, etc, as the each of the approximately 2 billion VW/AUDI clip styles are covered (okay, I exaggerated)These manuals are derived from the manuals supplied to the dealers. Worth every cent.

Somewhat Unsatisfying
Big two volumne manual.Electrical schematics are first rate, and exploded diagrams are very good.Unfortunately there is no troubleshooting info.If you have a flashing light on the dash, you have to spend manyhours dredging through the diagrams and charts simply to figure out whichof the bloody thermoswitches it is.Then when you do narrow it down, thereis no info on what the correct sensor outputs should be.Read more

Good reference book for "handymen".
I consider that this it's a good book. This book describes detailed the procedures of repair for Toyota RAV4. It seems to me excellent to mention the amount of photographies that allow to see with clarity where each screw is located.

I would agree with what has been stated...
This book is about as cool as the other side of the pillow! Un m�canicien qui veut apprendre l'�lectronic.

A reference for those with weak math skills.
While this book does appear to have a good coverage of topics, there is little to be found here that wouldn't be considered trivial by anyone who has completed a math course at the junior high level.

Simple, too simple
If your looking for something beyond gradeschool math (read:algebra/geometry)then I wouldn't recommend this book. The formulas would be usefull in modifying from an already set or measured value (tire size,mph,mpg) but would not be usefull when trying to design, analyze or mathmaticaly model anything. Use of English units nice for laymen.

THE book on Rocket Propulsion

Great for learning the theory, but....
...don't take everything as gospel. This isn't to say Mr. Cocco doesn't know what he's talking about, as he obviously does - he just sometimes doesn't make things very clear when he's using English as opposed to Italian. Some of it is rough translation, while some of it is just shoddy editing. In particular, I think whoever edited it didn't do much math or engineering. Some of the equations themselves have typos (an explaination of an equation describes two different variables when only one exists in the equation... but twice), many of the variables aren't explained, and some equations just don't make sense (a force divided by a distance equals another force). And the chapter on aerodynamics needs to be reworked - there are a few times when downforce and lift are used interchangeably even though they're opposing each other, and since those are the key points in the chapter it makes the rest of it harder to follow.
Translation malfeasance

This is a good book if you want to read about the physics of motorcycles and the different technologies but it is not a design book.It has a lot of formulas (know your greek alphabet) but the math is simple.I found this book interesting but now I still need to find a book on design of motorcycles. ... a great book
This is a great book,however I did find some errors.On page 223 the author states that all OE 5 liter cams have five 2.081 inch diameter bearing journals.Sorry,all 5 liter cams have five different size cam bearing journals as stated in my official Ford Mustang shop manuals from 1989,1972 and 1966.Page 209 states thatoversize valves up to 1.94"intake will work with OE notched pistons,while page 212 says valve reliefs in 87-93 production pistons will accomodate 2.02"intake valves.Which spec is correct?Page 32 and 268 states that the 83-85 dual snorkel air cleaner was used on mid eighties 429-460 v-8`s.1973 was the last year for the 429.And finally,the OE roller cam specs on page 228 don`t make sense to me.If the revised E8ZE-CA cam for late 1988 handicaps the engine by three horsepower compared to the original E5ZE-AA cam,why does the revised cam have better specs?

Oh to have had this book about $3000 ago
Now here is a book that can save you money. On the shelf behind me are about 15 books on Mustangs - Mods, Tuning, Rebuilding, Projects, Upgrades, and a complete set of Shop manuals. Many were not worth the time to read, much less the money, I took a chance and purchased a copy of The Offical Ford Mustang 5.0 book. Here is a book that covers all the years, and gives the good and bad points of each. What worked, and what did not. Excellent

Outstanding and thourough
This book is exceptional and details all the finer points that you must know when thinking about, or have purchased one of these fine cars. Take the time and read through this book and it will give you years of knowledge. The book will also educate you as to the correctness of the Chevrolet you either have, or are looking at. It also will help verify myths with acctual facts and documentation as tho the true nature of the cars and their history.

Chevy by the Numbers 1965 - 1969
By using this book, I figured out what year and model the block, heads and assembly date were for the motor in my 1956 Chevy Nomad. I new nothing about the motor. I now know what I have.
